Mild Start to the Week as Fall-Like Weather Moves Into North Jersey

Newark

By: Richard L. Smith

Newark and the North Jersey region are beginning the new week under partly cloudy skies and mild, slightly muggy conditions.

After a refreshingly cool weekend, Monday morning feels a bit warmer, currently at 71 degrees in downtown Newark as of 4:30 a.m.

Commuters catching early buses and trains can expect a comfortable morning, though a light jacket may still be helpful as the humidity gradually decreases.

According to the National Weather Service, patchy fog is possible before 8:00 a.m., followed by mostly sunny skies throughout the day.

Today’s high will approach 86 degrees with a light west wind shifting to 5–10 mph by late morning.

While the day will remain mostly dry, forecasters say there may be a few sprinkles across the region, not enough to cause a washout, but just enough to usher in cooler, drier air for the rest of the week.

Tonight, conditions are expected to be mostly clear with a low around 62 degrees, setting the stage for more fall-like weather ahead.

Stay safe and enjoy your Monday, New Jersey!
