Mild, Foggy Start Thursday in Newark with Slight Chance of Afternoon Storms

After a rainy Wednesday, Newark and the North Jersey region are waking up to a mild 60 degrees and dense fog in some areas, especially in parts of North Jersey.

While it’s mostly dry this morning, cloudy skies will dominate much of the day with only limited sunshine peeking through.

According to the National Weather Service, patchy fog is expected to linger until around 11 a.m., followed by a mostly cloudy afternoon. 

There's a chance of showers and possibly a thunderstorm after 2 p.m., though the day is not expected to be a washout.

Temperatures will climb to a high near 72 degrees. For the evening, the chance of showers and storms drops to 20 percent before 11 p.m., with continued cloudy skies and patchy fog overnight.

Lows will hover around 62 degrees.

While rain isn’t a certainty, it’s always wise to keep an umbrella nearby. Have a great Thursday, New Jersey!
