Mild Day Ahead Despite Morning Fog in Northern NJ

Newark and northern New Jersey residents are waking up to low cloud cover and dense fog this morning, especially in Sussex County, where visibility is reduced.AdNational Weather Service forcasters said the gloomy start results from a cold front moving through the area. However, the weather is set to improve significantly as the day progresses.

By midday, the sun will make a welcome appearance, ensuring it won’t be a total washout.

Today’s forecast includes a 50 percent chance of showers before noon, but NWS forecasters said conditions will clear up later, leading to a mostly sunny afternoon with highs nearing 68 degrees.

Winds will shift from south to west in the morning, ranging from 5 to 14 mph.AfTonight, the skies will remain mostly clear ,with temperatures dipping to a cooler 41 degrees.
