We’re closing out the week on a mild—but still chilly—note across Newark and the North Jersey region.
Happy Friday, NJ! If you’re heading out early, you’ll definitely want to grab a jacket or warm sweater.
At 4:30 a.m., it’s 41 degrees at the bus stop on South Orange Avenue and South 6th Street in Newark’s West Ward. Though brisk, it’s a noticeable improvement from the frigid temperatures we battled earlier in the week.

Conditions are shaping up nicely for a pleasant Friday, with plenty of sunshine expected by this afternoon once the morning chill fades.
Temperatures across the state vary widely: it’s a freezing 22 degrees in Sparta, 25 in Toms River, 33 in Morristown, 37 in Paterson, and 36 in Edison.
According to the National Weather Service:
Today: Mostly sunny, with a high near 50. Northwest wind 6 to 11 mph, with gusts up to 22 mph.
Tonight: Patchy frost after 1 a.m. Partly cloudy, with a low around 35.
Have a great Friday, NJ!
