Middlesex County authorities announced today that a homicide is under investigation in Piscataway.
According to officials, at approximately 3:58 p.m., police responded to the area of Washington Avenue and West Fifth Street following the report of a shooting.
Upon arrival, police said officers located and performed lifesaving measures on a male who sustained apparent gunshot wounds.
Middlesex County authorities said the victim, whose identity is being withheld pending notification to the next-of-kin, was transported to a nearby hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
