The Mercer County Prosecutor's Office is actively probing a violent stabbing incident that occurred on Thursday night, leaving a man severely injured.
According to preliminary reports, the assault occurred around 9 p.m. near Cross Street and Carroll Street.
Authorities were alerted to the situation following a 911 call reporting a person bleeding at the location.
Emergency personnel swiftly responded to the scene and discovered an unidentified male suffering from multiple stab wounds.
The victim was found unconscious and unresponsive.
Medical treatment was immediately administered at the scene, and the injured individual was rushed to a nearby hospital for further care.
At present, his condition remains undisclosed.
The motive behind this vicious attack is under investigation, and law enforcement has not reported any arrests related to the incident.
