Mays Landing Woman Indicted for the Murder of her Husband

Atlantic County authorities announced that Marylue Wigglesworth, 51, of Mays Landing, was indicted today on charges for murder and weapons offenses for the alleged murder of her husband, David Wigglesworth, 57, also of Mays Landing.

According to Hamilton Police, on December 25, officers responded to a residence on the 5200 block of Mays Landing Somers Point Road for an injured male.

Officers say they arrived to find the man, later identified as David B. Wigglesworth suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.

Mr. Wigglesworth was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The investigation resulted in the arrest of Marylue Wigglesworth for murder.

Police say Mrs. Wigglesworth was taken into custody and lodged in the Atlantic County Justice Facility.

According to authorities, the Southern Regional Medical Examiner’s Office completed an autopsy of David Wigglesworth and determined his cause of death to be a single gunshot wound, and the manner of death was deemed a homicide.

This continues to be an active and cooperative investigation between the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit and the Township of Hamilton Police Department.
