Authorities in Atlantic County announced that on Thursday, February 12, Matthew Kimberlin, 31, from Mays Landing, was sentenced by the Honorable Pamela D’Arcy, P.J.Cr., to a term of three years in New Jersey State Prison with a parole ineligibility period of one year for Unlawful Possession of an Assault Firearm, a second-degree offense.

ACPO officials said that on April 17, 2025, the Hamilton Township Police Department was dispatched to a residence regarding a physical domestic dispute following a neighbor's call.
The victim thereafter filed a restraining order against Kimberlin, Atlantic County officials stated. The victim notified officers that Kimberlin had four “ghost guns.”
Pursuant to the restraining order, HTPD officers seized the weapons, which included two ghost assault rifles fitted with silencers and two ghost handguns, in addition to multiple extended large-capacity ammunition magazines and hollow-nose ammunition, according to ACPO officials.
Atlantic County officials said all four firearms were found to be operable and capable of discharge. Kimberlin did not possess a license to own or carry these firearms.

Pursuant to the plea agreement, Kimberlin is to forfeit all weapons, accessories, and ammunition recovered, ACPO authorities say.
