These are some talking points for today's press conference regarding Wednesday's house explosion on Magnolia Ave. in Elizabeth:
In attendance: Mayor Bolllwage, Fire Director, Representative from Trinitas Hospital, City Councilman
1. Confirmed gas related explosion
2. The ground floor was an illegal conversion
3. There were no accounts on file for gas installation at PSEG or Elizabethtown Gas
4. There were no records on file of anyone calling PSEG, Elizabethtown Gas, Elizabeth Fire Department, or Elizabeth Police for odors of gas.
5. Elizabethtown gas told city of Elizabeth that they were on property on Monday for a scheduled appointment for gas installation but as they arrived, gas had already been turned on.
6. This is not propane or carbon monoxide related
According to officials, no one has yet been charged, and the investigation is continuing.
