Marijuana Activist Found Not Guilty of Witness Tampering in Mercer County

A jury found Ed "NJ Weedman" Forchion not guilty of witness tampering during Mercer County Superior Court trial.

Officials said that during closing statements Forchion claimed that everything he posted on social media and mailed to the family of the informant was just exercising his First Amendment rights. He stated that never violated any protective order that required him to conceal the identity of the informant because there was no order.

In addition, Forchion asked the jury np matter what the verdict was if they could make it unanimous, so he did not have to return again.

Officials however said that the assistant Mercer County prosecutor, could only be construed as a threat. The packages ranged from letters that stated Forchion knew what kind of car they drove, where children in the family lived.

Following verdict Forchion returned to the Mercer County jail to be officially released.

According to authorities, Forchion still awaits trial in marijuana dealing charges case.
