Maplewood Police Search for Suspect Wanted for Snatching Cash from Walgreens’ Register

Maplewood

Maplewood Police are looking for a suspect wanted for stealing money from the register on a business in the Township Friday.

According to Maplewood Police officials,  at approximately 11:10 a.m., a male who wore a hooded sweatshirt and mask entered the Walgreens on Springfield Avenue.

Police said the suspect selected several items and then went to the counter.

According to police, when the employee opened the register, the male leaned across the counter and demanded the employee empty the register.

Police said while doing this, the assailant had one of his hands inside a bag which made the employee feel as though he was armed.

The suspect then took the cash out of the register and fled into the parking lot.

Police say the male then entered a dark-colored vehicle and fled towards Burnett Avenue.

The suspect never threatened the employee or made physical contact with them.
