Newark Public Safety Director Anthony F. Ambrose reports that a manhole cover explosion that occurred today at 637 at 41 Market Street is currently under investigation by PSE&G.
Officials say members of the Newark Fire and Police divisions responded to the area and evacuated tenants in area buildings as a precaution.
No injuries or power outages were reported.
