Man, Woman Arrested for Robbery, Aggravated Assault in Newark

Newark Police Fugitive Apprehension Team arrested Mr. Michael Scott, 22, and Ms. Dariah N. Williams 19, of Newark who were wanted for aggravated assault and robbery that occurred in late January.

According to police, at approximately 9:50 p.m., police responded to reports of a robbery in progress that occurred in the 600-block of Irvine Turner Boulevard.

Police say EMS transported a male victim to University Hospital for treatment of injuries resulting from being robbed then attacked at that location.

Detectives investigating the incident identified Michael Scott and Dariah N. Williams as suspects and secured a warrant for the arrest of the pair on charges of Robbery, two counts of Unlawful Possession of a Weapon, Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose, Aggravated Assault and Conspiracy to Commit Robbery.

According to police, detectives took Scott into custody on February 8th, in the 900-block of Bergen Street.

Police arrested Williams on yesterday -Tuesday-on Irvine Turner Boulevard authorities said.

These charges are merely accusations. Each suspect is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
