Man Wanted for Robbery in Newark

Police offcials in Newark seek the public’s help in locating a suspect wanted for his involvement in a robbery that occurred on November 16th.

According to the victim, at approximately 4:00 p.m., he and his cousin were in Nat Turner Park when a group of male youths approached them.

The group kicked and punched thje two victims before taking their cell phones and other personal items police said.

Both victims were treated at Beth Israel Hospital for bruises and contusions before being released according to police.

Police said on November 21, members of the Fugitive Apprehension Team located an arrested a 17-year-old Newark resident who they charged with two counts of robbery and conspiracy to commit robbery for his involvement in the robbery.

Robbery Detectives identified a second suspect, Mr. Darrell Cheeks and obtsined a warrant for his arrest.

Cheeks is described as approximately 6’3”, 180lbs. and is wanted for two counts of Robbery and Conspiracy to commit robbery.

The investigation is continuing.
