Man Wanted for Questioning in Several Suspicious Fires in Newark, Elizabeth

Newark Police are looking for a suspect for questioning relative to several rubbish fires that occurred in the city.

The first two suspicious fires were reported on May 3rd in Elizabeth. Police said one of the arson incidents took place near 83 Elizabeth Avenue and the second was reported on Broad Street.

According to police, on June 25th, four suspicious fires were reported in Newark at the following locations; the intersection of Broad and Franklin streets, the 100 block of West Kinney Street, the intersection of Barclay and Muhammad Ali avenues -near Jessie Allen Park- and the final incident occurring at Franklin Street and Federal Square.

While arson investigators are actively searching for the pictured suspect for questioning, they seek the public’s assistance in quickly identifying and locating him.

This investigation is ongoing.
