Man Wanted for Questioning in Newark Shooting

Police officials in Newark are seeking the public’s help in locating **Mr. Jermel Medley, 32, of Newark**, who they said is wanted for questioning in connection with a shooting that occurred on Monday, April 10th.

Police said at approximately 12:50 a.m., officers responded to Cutler Street and 6th Avenue to a call of shots fired.

According to Newark Public Safety Director Anthony Ambrose, officers located Mr. Medley shot inside a vehicle.

EMS transported Mr. Medley to University Hospital for treatment then released him Director Ambrose said.

Police arrested Medley on April 17th and charged him with Unlawful Possession of a Weapon and Receiving Stolen Property in connection with the April 10th shooting Director Ambrose said.

"At the time of his arrest, Mr. Medly wore a monitoring bracelet for an arrest on charges of Aggravated Assault in an incident that occurred on February 27th," Director Ambrose said.

Detectives investigating the April 10th shooting are seeking Mr. Medley for questioning.
