Man Wanted for Pointing Gun at Family Store Employee

Police in Newark requests the public's help with identifying a suspect who walked into a local business and pointed a handgun at an employee on Thursday.

Police officers responded around 6:40 p.m. to a call of man who became hostile toward employees at the Family Dollar Store located in the 800 block of North 6th Street.

Police say the suspect pulled out a handgun and pointed it at one of the employees before leaving the business headed toward Bloomfield.

According to police, the suspect is described as 5’6,’’ with a thin build. He has a medium brown complexion, a tattoo over his right eye and a gash over his left eye.

He was wearing a black jacket, shoes and denim jeans.

While police are actively searching for this suspect, we seek the public’s help so that he can be located.
