According to Pocono Mountain Regional Police, officers responded on Tuesday to a domestic argument report in Coolbaugh Township and found Meljah Oliver, 31, who was wanted by the Essex County Prosecutor's Office for murder.

Authorities said Oliver was taken into custody and waived extradition and released to Newark authorities.

Police responded to the 7:30 a.m. call and met with a woman at the gate to A Pocono Country Place reports said.

The woman told police she and Oliver, who she said might be wanted for murder, had been having an argument at a Jewel Terrace residence in the development and that Oliver was still in the house reports said.

When police arrived at the house, Oliver would not respond to police presence or answer the door. Police finally were able to get him out of the house 45 minutes later and take him into custody.
