A 32-year-old man accused of killing a man and attempting to kill a woman in Newark was arrested in Dutchess County, N.Y. yesterday.
According to Essex County Prosecutor's Office spokeswoman Katherine Carter, Mikey Miguel Williams was arrested yesterday at a home in Poughkeepsie.
He was found in possession of a loaded .45-caliber stainless steel semi-automatic handgun, reportedly stolen out of Virginia.
On February 9, police responded to the 200 block of North 9th Street in Newark for a report of shots fired around 11:30 p.m.
Upon arrival, police found 30-year-old Kwame Yeboah, of East Orange, dead.
A woman was also injured in the shooting.
William was charged with murder, attempted murder, unlawful possession of a weapon with intent to use against another and unlawful possession of a weapon.
A warrant was issued for Williams' arrest in Newark on March 3, Carter said.
Williams is being held on $1 million bail and is awaiting extradition to New Jersey.
