Man Wanted for Allegedly Running Woman Over with Car in Newark

Police seek the public’s help with locating William D. Jackson, 50, of Newark who intentionally hit a woman with the vehicle he drove.

Officials said police responded to a call about someone who had been stabbed in the 300 block of Irvine Turner Boulevard at approximately 12:55 p.m.

When they arrived, officers saw an injured woman on the ground, who told them that she had been struck with a vehicle driven by a man she knows.

Police say the driver, later identified as Jackson, also struck another woman.

He is described as 5’8’’ and between 250-300 pounds with a bald head, brown eyes and a medium brown complexion according to police.

While detectives investigating this incident are seeking the public’s help with locating Jackson, Director Ambrose urges anyone with information about his whereabouts to call the Division's 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695-8477).

All anonymous Crime Stopper tips are kept confidential and could result in a reward.
