A Paterson man this morning took it upon himself to trap a robbery suspect inside a city bank vestibule to prevent suspect from fleeing before police arrival.
Police responded the the Chase bank in downtown Paterson for a report of a robbery in progress sometime around 6:25 a.m.
Upon arrival, police found a 29-year-old Paterson man holding the door shut, trapping the suspect - later identified as 35-year-old Lester Mooring - the bank vestibule.
When police arrived, Mooring smashed the glass door and entered the bank in hopes of escaping. After a brief struggle, Mooring was taken into custody.
The incident remains under investigation.
No physical injuries were immediately reported.
