Authorities in Middlesex County announced that a fatal crash is under investigation.

Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone stated that at approximately 4:51 a.m., authorities responded to the northbound side of the Edison Bridge on Route 9 following the report of a crash.

Upon their arrival, authorities located Jamal Ebron, 53, of Jersey City, who was struck by a Hyundai Kona operated by a 33-year-old Old Bridge man, MCPO officials say.

According to Middlesex County officials, an initial investigation led by Officer Nicholas Kales of the Sayreville Police Department and Detective Ken McGarry of the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office determined that a tractor-trailer was disabled in the right lane.
