Man Stabs Three Victims After 8-Year-Old was Struck by Car in Elizabeth

Elizabeth

Police are looking into the circumstances behind a stabbing incident that sent three victims to the hospital on Sunday night.

According to a preliminary investigation, Elizabeth city spokesperson Kelly Martins said the incident happened at approximately 9:05 p.m. at 440 Broadway.

According to Martins, police are still trying to piece together the circumstances behind the incident. They believe that the situation started with an 8-year-old child struck by a passing car.

According to Spokeswoman Martins, this resulted in an assault where a 38-year-old Howell male resident stabbed three people.

Martins said the child who was struck by the vehicle is in stable condition. All of the stabbing victims suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

Police took the suspect into custody and charged him with multiple counts of aggravated assault and weapons charges.

According to Martins, the relationship between the child and the suspect has not been released at this time.

There is an active and ongoing investigation underway.
