Man Stabbed on Street in Jersey City

Doctors at Jersey City Medical Center treated then released a man who suffered a stab wound after being attacked on a street in Jersey City this afternoon.

According to a preliminary investigation, police were called to the vicinity of Orient Avenue and Martin Luther King Drive just before 2 p.m. to investigate reports of an injured person.

Units arrived at the scene and were told by a witness that the victim was attacked by an unidentified man who pulled a sharp object and stabbed the victim in the left shoulder.

According to reports, the suspect then ran from the scene and was last seen in the area of Orient and Ocean avenues.

The suspect is described as a black male who wore a dark-colored varsity jacket.

The motive for the incident remains under investigation.
