Police took a suspect in custody after a stabbing incident at the main public library in downtown Newark this morning.
Just before 11:30 a.m., police were dispatched to 5 Washington Street to investigate reports of a person stabbed.
Upon arrival, two Newark Police Special officers found a male suffering stab wounds after an altercation in front of the library.
The victim was rushed to the hospital in stable condition.
The motive for the incident is under investigation.
