Police in Newark are investigating the circumstances behind an incident where a man was found slashed in the city's North Ward on Sunday night.
According to preliminary reports, police were called to the vicinity of 10 Riverside Court to investigate reports of an injured person just before 11:15 p.m.
When officers arrived at the scene, they found an unidentified male suffering a slash injury across his eye, according to reports.
EMS treated the victim for the non-life threatening injury while the police looked into who attacked the man.
The incident remains under investigation.
