Police assisted a man they found suffering severe stab wounds in a Newark Central Ward neighborhood.
Officials said at approximately 410 p.m., police responded to reports of a person stabbed in the vicinity of 465 South 14th Street.
When officers arrived at the scene, they found a man bleeding heavily after someone attacked him with a knife at that location.
Police say the man was transported to University Hospital and was last listed in serious condition.
The motive for the attack is under investigation.
