Man Sentenced to Life Without Parole in West Orange Homicide

Superior Court Judge Ronald D. Wigler in Newark sentenced Ali Muhammad Brown, 34, of Seattle, Washington, to life in prison without the possibility of parole.

According to authorities, Brown admitted shooting 19-year-old Brendan Tevlin in 2014 as Tevlin sat in his car at a traffic light in West Orange, apologized to Tevlin’s family.

Officials said Brown is currently serving a 36 year prison for an armed robbery committed in West Orange will be sentenced on May 11 for another armed robbery that occurred in Point Pleasant Beach.

In addition, Brown faces aggravated murder charges in the three killings in Washington state.
