Man Sentenced in Fatal 2019 Shooting of Pleasantville Teen

On Thursday, a Pleasantville man was sentenced to 10 years for the fatal July 2019 shooting of Naimah Bell, 15, also of Pleasantville, First Assistant Prosecutor Cary Shill announced.

According to Prosecutor Shill, Nahquil Lovest, 20, was sentenced on an amended charge of Aggravated Manslaughter.

Lovest pleaded guilty in July 2020 to a charge of first-degree Aggravated Manslaughter.

Prosecutor Shill stated that Lovest was arrested on Friday, July 26, 2019, in connection to the murder of Bell was shot and killed inside the address 102 S. Massachusetts Avenue, Atlantic City, shortly after 4:00 a.m., on July 25, 2019. 

An initial autopsy was conducted and determined that the pending cause of death to be a gunshot wound to the head and the pending manner of death as a homicide.
