Man Robbed by Two Females who Carried an Infant in Newark

Police in Newark are on the search for two women who are wanted for robbing a man while they carried an infant in Newark’s South Ward.

Police say it happened at around 9:45 a.m. when a man waited at the NJ Transit number 99 bus stop at the corner of Bergen Street and Watson Avenue where the victim told police that he was approached by two women, one of which was carrying a baby.

The victim said the women initiated a physical attack on him then demanded money and other personal items.

The women subsequently robbed the man of his cell phone and an undetermined amount of cash according to authorities.

The victim ran from the scene and found a nearby police officer near the intersection of Bergen Street and Mapes Avenue where he alerted the officer as to what just occurred.

The two women were described as being in their early to mid-twenties with one wearing a camouflage jacket.

The women fled on foot with the baby in an unknown direction.
