A video that went viral of a man who walked into a McDonald's restaurant in downtown Newark and released a large rat while patrons sat eating their meals has police investgiating.

Police have not released reports of an arrest of the male as of Friday, February 8th after the video showed the unidentified suspect allegedly caused panic and customers to run out of the restaurant after he released the white rat at around 5 p.m. on Tuesday according to McDonald's officials.
Customers were observed running and climbing across tables in an attempt to flee from the scene according to the video.
There were no injuries reported.
