Newark --- Acting Essex County Prosecutor Robert D. Laurino and Newark Public Safety Director Anthony F. Ambrose announced today that the Essex County Prosecutor's Office Homicide/Major Crimes Task Force, which includes Newark Police detectives, is investigating a fatal shooting.
According to police, last night at approximately 7:18 pm., Mr. Yasin Hamilton, 26, of Newark was fatally shot in the 900 block of South 18th Street.
Medics pronounced him dead at 7:26 p.m. authorities said.
The investigation is active and ongoing.
There were no arrests reported.
