Authorities are investigating a fatal shooting in Jersey City Saturday night that may have stemmed from a domestic violence incident, according to preliminary information released by the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office.

Around 8:30 p.m., Jersey City Police responded to multiple reports of a domestic disturbance at a residence in the 100 block of Wade Street.

Upon arrival, officers discovered an adult male suffering from gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The area was secured by police until detectives from the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office arrived to take over the investigation.

Sources tell RLS Media that the alleged shooter may be the victim’s son, though authorities have not confirmed the relationship at this time.

The suspect reportedly fled the scene before police arrived and remains at large.

The investigation is ongoing.

Officials have not yet released the identities of those involved. More information will be provided as it becomes available from Hudson County authorities.
