Authorities are investigating a fatal shooting that took place late Monday afternoon in Elizabeth, acting Union County Prosecutor Grace H. Park announced Tuesday.
The victim has been identified as Sutton West, 24, of Magnolia Avenue in Elizabeth.
Police rushed to the 200 block of Pine Street on a report of shots being fired at approximately 5:30 p.m. Monday to find West suffering from gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The case remains under joint investigation by the Union County Homicide Task Force and the Elizabeth Police Department.
