Man Killed in Atlantic City Shooting

The Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office is investigating a shooting that claimed the life of a man Saturday night in Atlantic City.AdThe Atlantic City Police Department was alerted to multiple gunshots at 119 North Virginia Avenue through a ShotSpotter notification around 7:19 p.m.

Responding promptly, officers arrived at the scene to find a distressing sight.

Mr. Christian Hunter, a 32-year-old resident of Atlantic City, was discovered unresponsive on the sidewalk, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

Immediate efforts were made to save Hunter as he was rushed to AtlantiCare Medical Center's city division.

Despite these efforts, police said he was pronounced deceased at the hospital. An autopsy by the South Regional Medical Examiner's Office is pending to determine the precise cause and manner of Hunter's death.

AdIn the wake of this tragic event, the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office's Major Crimes Unit, in collaboration with the Atlantic City Police Department Violent Crimes Unit, has taken charge of the investigation.

They are working diligently to unravel the circumstances surrounding this incident.
