A person was struck and killed by a train Friday evening near the New Brunswick station, authorities said.
According to officials, at approximately 7:40 p.m., Northeast Corridor Train 3875, which departed New York Penn Station at 6:43 p.m. and was scheduled to arrive at the Trenton Transit Center at 8:13 p.m., struck an adult male trespasser in the area of the station.
The individual was pronounced deceased at the scene. No injuries were reported to the train crew or the 156 passengers on board.

Rail service on the Northeast Corridor continued following the incident, though travelers experienced delays of up to 60 minutes in both directions.
New Jersey Transit police are leading the investigation. Further details have not yet been released.
