Man Kicks, Spits on Gloucester Officers After He was Kicked Out of Blackwood Pub

Gloucester Township

A 25-year-old man was arrested Monday night after he allegedly kicked and spit on police officers in Gloucester Township.

According to police, on Jan. 8th, at approximately 8:21 p.m., the Gloucester Township Police Department responded to Skeeters Pub, located at 7 Coles Road in Blackwood, for a patron who had been escorted out of the bar after striking a bartender and a bouncer.

Upon officers arrival, the subject had left the area but was located by officers shortly stumbling in the middle of the roadway.

When officers attempted to interview the subject and protect him from being harmed by passing vehicles, he ran from the officers, ignoring their commands.

Officers eventually located the individual, later identified as Joshua Free, 25, of Stratford, who in attempts of avoiding arrest, kicked and later spit on two Gloucester Township Police Officers.

Police arrested and charged Free with

Aggravated Assault Against an Enforcement Officer, Throwing Bodily Fluids and Resisting Arrest By Physical Force or Violence.
