Police in Jersey City are investigating a domestic violence aggravated assault incident reported in a section of the city Sunday.
The early morning incident happened around 12:39 a.m. in the 20's block of Wallis Avenue.
Police responded to the address after receiving reports of a pedestrian strike and when they arrived, officers found an injured female at that location.
Reports say authorities later learned that her boyfriend drove the vehicle that struck the woman.
He was taken into custody and charged with aggravated assault while EMS transported the woman to Jersey City Medical Center to treat non-fatal injuries.
The incident remains under investigation.
