Police in Jersey City are investigating a stabbing incident that injured a senior man during the overnight hours inside a park in the city.
According to preliminary reports, police were called to Lincoln Park at approximately 1:30 a.m. after they received reports of an injured person. Police officers arrived and found a male victim -around the age of 60- suffering multiple stab wounds at that location.
The victim was transported to Jersey City Medical Center where doctors did treat the seriously injured man, but officials did not immediately release the extent of the victim's injuries according to reports.
Jersey City Police officers detained one person who is believed to be the suspect responsible for the stabbing.
The motive for the stabbing remains under investigation.
