There were non-life threatening injuries reported for a person found slashed in Newark's North Ward Saturday evening.
According to police, the incident happened in the 200 block of Mount Prospect Avenue shortly before 7 p.m.
Police arrived after receiving reports of an injured person then found the man suffering a slash in his head after a violent encounter with the suspect at that location.
The victim was transported to the hospital and expected to survive.
No arrests were immediately reported.
