Morris County Prosecutor Fredric M. Knapp and Chief Peter Demnitz of the Morristown Bureau of Police announce that a male was found deceased this morning in front of the Morristown Post Office.
At approximately 8:26 a.m. today, Morristown police were alerted about an unresponsive male who was on a bench at the front of the Morristown Post Office located at 1 Morris Street.
Morristown Police Officers and Paramedics from Atlantic Health Services responded and determined that a 54 year-old male was deceased upon their arrival.
As the male was discovered upon the property of the Morristown Post Office, investigators from the United States Postal Inspection Service responded to conduct the investigation with assistance from the Morristown Bureau of Police.
At this time, this incident does not appear to be suspicious and there is no threat to anyone in the community. A complete investigation will be conducted and more information may be released pending notification of the next of kin.
