The recovery of a body found Wednesday morning off the shore in Jersey City has police investigating.
Police responded to the shore area near 25 Hudson Street, in Jersey City sometime around 8 a.m. for reports of a body.
Authorities recovered the body of the 38-year-old Bayonne man but are awaiting results of a preliminary autopsy to determine the man's cause of death.
The investigation is active and ongoing.
The identification of the man is being withheld at this time.
