Man Found Dead in Basement of New Brunswick Home ID’d

Middlesex County Prosecutor Andrew C. Carey and Director Anthony A. Caputo of the New Brunswick Police Department announce today that a 36-year old New Brunswick man has been identified as the person whose body was found in the basement of an abandoned residence in the City.

 

Officials say Lucas Reyes-Cardona was identified during an active and continuing investigation by the New Brunswick Police Department and the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office.

 

The investigation began when the victim’s body was discovered in an abandoned residence on Welton Street on April 5th at approximately 9:59 am.

 

The Middlesex County Medical Examiner’s Office ruled the death a homicide caused by blunt force trauma to the head.

 

The investigation is active and is continuing.
