The Mercer County Prosecutor's Office has taken over the investigation into a shooting that left a man dead this evening in Trenton.
Gunmen targeted a man in the vicinity of Stuyvesant and Hoffman avenues at approximately 6 p.m. and began to open fire on the unidentified male multiple times until his body hit the ground in broad daylight.
Police arrived at the scene and observed the lifeless and heavily bleeding body of the male victim where officers then placed a white sheet over him.
Police say the suspects ran from the scene and now remain at-large.
The motive for the shooting remains under investigation.
