Man Charged in West New York Hit-and-Run that Injured Jersey Woman

Authorities in Hudson County announced that on Friday, November 3, the Hudson County Regional Collision Investigation Unit arrested a 37-year-old man in connection with a hit-and-run crash that seriously injured a bicyclist in West New York.

AdAccording to officials, Jason Flores, of West New York, is charged with Knowingly Leaving the Scene of a Motor Vehicle Collision and Endangering an Injured Person.

Authorities say he was arrested at the Hudson County Correctional Facility, where he was being detained on an unrelated matter.

Officials stated on Wednesday, December 14, 2022, at approximately 12:20 p.m., the West New York Police Department was notified of an electric bicyclist struck in the area of 50th Street and Bergenline Avenue.

Responding officers located a 33-year-old North Bergen woman with serious injuries, officials said.

She was transported to Jersey City Medical Center, officials say, where she was treated for injuries that were not considered life-threatening.

The striking vehicle, later identified as an Acura MDX operated by Flores, did not remain at the scene, officials said.
