A 25-year-old Woodland Park man was arrested Tuesday morning after police say he stole a laptop from the Apple Store at Willowbrook Mall and tried to run from officers.

According to Wayne Police, Officer Adrian Valentin was on patrol in the mall area around 10:57 a.m. on October 7, 2025, when he received a call about a laptop theft.
The suspect had reportedly grabbed the device from the store counter and fled.
Officer Valentin spotted a man in the parking lot matching the description, concealing a laptop under his jacket. When approached, the suspect ran.
After a brief chase, Officer Valentin ordered him to stop several times before taking him to the ground and placing him in handcuffs.
The laptop was returned to the Apple Store.
Police identified the suspect as Christoph Burgos, 25, of Woodland Park. He was charged with theft and resisting arrest.
Burgos was released on a complaint summons in accordance with New Jersey Bail Reform guidelines.
