The Jersey City Police Department received a notification regarding the incident in the areas of Routes 1 and 9 and Sip Avenue. Upon arrival, responding officers discovered two vehicles – a Honda Accord operated by a 60-year-old Jersey City resident and an Infinity Q60 driven by Gapasin.

Prosecutor Suarez said both vehicles exhibited extensive damage.

Both drivers were then transported to Jersey City Medical Center for medical attention. It was determined that the 60-year-old driver had sustained multiple severe injuries.

The subsequent investigation concluded that Gapasin had been driving at a notably high speed while traveling north on Routes 1 and 9, resulting in the collision at the intersection of Sip Avenue with the Honda Accord.
