Man Charged with Beating Child to Death in Pennsauken

Camden County Prosecutor Mary Eva Colalillo and Pennsauken Police Chief John Coffey reported a homicide on Saturday, August 20, 2016.

Pennsauken Police responded at approximately 11:28 p.m. on Saturday, August 20, 2016 to the 5900 block of Mansion Boulevard in Pennsauken in reference to an unresponsive child.

Officers and Emergency Medical Personnel arrived and quickly transported the two-year old male victim to Cooper University Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at 12:08 a.m. Sunday, August 21, 2016.

The investigation conducted by Detectives Frank Simpson of the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office and John Kelly of the Pennsauken Police Department led to the arrest of Zachary Tricoche, 24, of Pennsauken for the beating death of the young boy. Tricoche is the boyfriend of the victim’s mother.

Tricoche is charged with first-degree murder and is being held at the Camden County Jail. The arraignment will be held before Superior Court Judge Edward J. McBride Jr. on Tuesday, August 23, 2016 at 1:30 p.m. in courtroom 36 of the Camden County Hall of Justice.

All persons charged with crimes are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
