Several community activist groups are alerting the public of a luring that took place at the Louise A. Spencer School located in the 60's block of Muhammad Ali Boulevard in the city's Central Ward on Friday and again on Monday.
The girl reportedly told the crossing guard that a dark-skinned man around the age of 30-years-old wearing a gray jacket, jeans and a dark colored hat began following her to school. The crossing guard confronted the man, initiating a brief conversation when the man quickly left the scene.
Parents were at the school passing out fliers to the community on the incident but the school district did not release a formal statement.
The incident is being investigated by Newark Police.
