Man Attacked on NJ Transit Train in Morristown

Morristown

Johnny Juica-Pena of Morristown has been charged with harassment, simple assault, and bias intimidation after allegedly attacking another passenger on an NJ Transit train on Friday night.

According to an NJ Transit spokesman, the incident between the two men allegedly involves racial slurs and is under investigation.

Officials say it is being looked at as involving bias because the assaulted passenger wore a Kufi, which is a head covering typically worn by Muslim men.

According to reports, the altercation started because the victim could not answer Juica-Pena's question about whether the bathroom was occupied.
